# Campaign message match

Most campaign traffic is lost in the first two seconds, between the promise that earned the click and the page that answers it.

## 1. Put them side by side

Write the ad, post or email copy on one side and the page headline and button on the other. Compare three things:

- **the promise**: is the outcome the same, in the same words?

About this skill

What is the Campaign message match skill?

What it does

  • A side-by-side of the campaign copy and the page it lands on
  • Three checks: the promise, the audience, the next step
  • The wording continuity that tells a visitor they are in the right place
  • What to do when one page has to serve several arrivals
  • A pass on the campaign links and their tags
  • The exact rewrite that closes the gap, on either side

When to use it

  • Launching a campaign on a page you did not write for it
  • Paid traffic that clicks and leaves
  • Auditing campaigns that ran for months
  • Reusing one landing page across several channels
